My favourite beauty products

My favourite beauty products changes depending on any skin concerns I may have that week or month for instance, or the latest launches to catch my eye. But here's just a little shout-out to those beauty products that I am loving right now.

My favourite beauty products - Clarins' Extra Comfort Anti Pollution Cleansing cream

For the past month I have been using - and loving Clarins' Extra Comfort Anti Pollution Cleansing cream, £25. It is relatively new, launching earlier this year and some die-hard fans of the original cleansing cream, haven't loved this replacement. But I have found this cleanser to be brilliant. It really gets rid of all makeup, dirt and grim and leaves skin looking and feeling clean and cleansed without drying it out.

There is a specific application method to keep in mind when using this product and you can also opt to cleanse with or without water - for more info on this check out www.clarins.co.uk - which I think demonstrates the versatility of this product. And the price point of it, really makes it affordable luxury.

Without sounding like I have a current favourite beauty brand, Clarins has really been on a roll as of late with lots of fab launches. Another one I've been talking about is the Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster. As I've said in my earlier post, if you only have cash for one beauty item this week, then make it this one. It banishes any remaining winter dullness and says hello to summer glow. It really is glow in bottle.

I've been partial to a spot or two and tried just about every current beauty product spot zapper going. But Estee Lauder has just launched a new range perfect for this. It's called the Clear Difference range and it includes another of my current cannot-live-without beauty items - the Clear Difference Targeted Blemish Treatment, £25. It is oil-free and oil controlling and with its precision application it perfect for zapping spots accurately either before or once they've appeared. I have found it doesn't dry out skin but is effective at clearing up a spot with a noticeable impact with 24 hours.

My favourite beauty products - Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Cream

Regular readers of this blog with know how much I love Origins. Well, recently this amazing brand added to its best-selling Plantscription range with my current favourite moisturiser - Origins Plantscription Powerful Lifting Cream, £50. This product, whilst not exclusively, is particularly suited to more mature skin or those who are looking to target wrinkles. I am not in that field per se but I am in my thirties so ageing is one of my primary skin concerns and this moisturiser has been ideal. It might be a heavy weight in its aims but this moisturiser is light and soaks into skin quickly, leaving no trace. That is aside from healthier, younger looking skin.

There are eye makeup removers and there are eye makeup removers. And Smashbox's It's A Wrap waterproof makeup remover, £16.50 is a giant in this field. It managed to remove even the most stubborn of mascaras and eyeliners without smearing it or irritating lashes and it doesn't dry out skin. I absolutely love this product and use it religiously.

And then there's fragrance. I confess, I am a bit of a perfume butterfly, flitting from one fragrance to the next. However, when I find one which I particularly like, I settle down and remain faithful. This has been the case for Michael Kors, Sexy Amber, £38 for 30ml. With its amber, sandalwood and jasmine notes, this is a sensual and feminine fragrance at its best. It might not be faithful longterm but I am for now.
