Signs of stress can show in different ways: thinning hair, weight loss – or weight gain, lack of sleep to name a few. In addition stress also takes its toll on the body. And then there's skin.
Experts point to stress being a cause of premature ageing, wrinkles, the appearance of skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, and sensitive skin. In fact, according to the America Academy of Dermatology out of the 50 per cent of people who claim to have sensitive skin, only between 20 and 25 per cent really do have sensitive skin. What the rest are actually suffering from is what dermatologists are calling stressed skin.
